One ceramic bowl for each of the last four epochs of the Cenozoic Era: Miocene (23 - 5.3 million years ago), Pliocene (5.3 - 2.6 million years ago), Pleistocene (2.6 million years ago - 11,700 years ago), and Holocene (11,700 - Now). These reflect the time scale of my research familiarity; what may seem ancient to some feels very recent to others. We belong to the spatial & temporal weave of place, and each bowl contains suggestions for how to find a thread of connection to the past in Idaho (the idea of which has formally existed for 0.008% of the time scale represented here).
